They wanted a lifestyle family shoot. All at their home. I hope that more families do that in the future with me. Shoots at home are so real. They’re who your family really is, where your family resides, doing the day to day things your family might do – and me, capturing it all.
And so, here was the Coleman family – warm-hearted, joyful, and full of Christ, letting me be a part of their family for a moment. And I loved that.
Afterwards, they invited me to dinner inside their home, and we talked and they served me chocolate milk, which of course, made me smile. And I hope I never forget any of this. This is what I want a photography job to be like. Connection. Sharing of heart. Hanging out. If you ever want a shoot with me, and want to get coffee afterwards, let’s do it – my treat. Photography is about meeting each other. The photos are just icing on the cake.
This family is truly an example to me. Those two cuties, Mom and Dad, they’ve been married over 10 years. Look how in love they still are. I have been around them more times than this, too. They are always loving. And their little girls and adorable little boy are crazy for them.
Nellie and Andy, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your family for part of your day. It truly was a blessing, and an example to me and my possibly future family.
Love, Meredith
