Adrianna // Senior of 2013 | Meredith Adams – Vale, OR Portrait Photographer

Adrianna is kindhearted, happy, and a talented writer. She was a blessing to shoot, and afterwards, she invited me into her house for tea so we got to hang out for a couple more hours, which was awesome. I’m excited to see what the future holds for her.

Jackie in John Day, OR | Meredith Adams – Portrait Photographer

Jackie invited me to go on a roadtrip with her Friday, and we left the next day. It was beautiful. Here’s a small list of things that I will remember about this trip:

- The cabin hidden in the woods
- My diet of cheez-its, m&ms, chips ahoy cookies, and rich, creamy chocolate and huckleberry ice cream
- thoughtful conversations
- laughing really hard
- the dog that I thought would attack us
- the hypothetical bear that I thought would attack us
- being introduced to new music (artsists such as Y La Bamba, Typhoon, and Andrew Bird) / listening to them under starry skies on the way home when I was half awake

and just in general having a great time. I’m so  thankful that I get to do fun stuff like this with creative people. Jackie is awesome in general, and you can check out her shots from the trip here. I loved hanging out with her! And isn’t she seriously a fantastic model? Like whoa.

Here’s to roadtrips and woodsy adventures.

Prom | Couples from Fruitland High School – Meredith Adams, Boise ID Prom Photographer

This shoot was SO much fun. I love occasions where everyone is dressed up and happy. That’s a main reason why I love weddings, but I also love senior photoshoots, so when a senior/junior is dressed up and happy, I’m equally as stoked as I would be for a wedding. I had a blast seeing some familiar faces, and meeting new people. Fruitland was my high school, so it brought back fun memories.

If you have a prom coming up and would like some photos – let’s talk!

Early April Confessions

I have spent time, more time, trying to put up things that please others.

I want to find my voice and I want to be heard.

So I’m going to try to post personal things without trying to be liked.

And photos that I like, without worrying about facebook likes.

And I want to shoot more black and white film. And read more novels. And write more.

I’m in a process of discovering myself (aren’t we all?) and I am comforted by the fact that I can make mistakes. I am so happy that I can be alive on this earth and breathe in the fresh-cut-grass-smell of Spring and make mistakes and be wrong about things. I am happy that I can feel the full spectrum of emotions. I am happy that I can be enlightened. I am happy that I can change my mind about things.

Here is something I struggle with. It’s just a minor struggle, but I need help with it – where should I post these personal things? I am happy to share them with you, but maybe they belong somewhere else. Maybe they belong on my personal blog and not here on my photography blog. What do you think?

I want to hear from you. And I also want to know how you’re enjoying Spring, because I’m basically falling in love with it and I want to hear why you’re loving it too.

Gordon Fong Chin’s Funeral | Meredith Adams – Portrait and Wedding Photographer

Gordon was born in 1926 in China and passed away this month in Fruitland, Idaho. His funeral was full of people who loved him, as well as the Treasure Valley Military and Idaho Honor Guard, paying a tribute to him for his selfless service.

God hath not promised
Skies always blue.
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hat not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.
But God hath promised
Strength for the day;
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way;
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love. . .
